Lady Burton’s Rope Squirrel (Funisciurus isabella)
…a species of African striped squirrel (Funisciurus spp.) that occurs in Cameroon, The Republic of the Congo, The Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in Africa. It typically inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and sub/tropical moist montane forests. Like other squirrels F. isabella likely feeds in a wide variation of plant matter, ranging from nuts, to seeds and fruits.
Funisciurus isabella is named afterIsabel Burton the wife of the explorer Sir Richard Francis Burton.
